Basketball Game Preview: Blanco Panthers vs. Burnet Bulldogs

Blanco hasn't had much luck against Burnet recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Blanco Panthers will head out to face off against the Burnet Bulldogs at 11:00 a.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Blanco is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Saturday. They took a blow against Jones, falling 52-16. That's two games in a row now that the Panthers have lost by exactly 36 points.

The losing side was boosted by Kaylee Romero, who posted seven points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Gretschen Grosch, who had no points in addition to ten rebounds and three steals.

Meanwhile, Burnet played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Fredericksburg and fell 67-34. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 537th, while the Billies are ranked 39th).

Burnet's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Blanco, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-13.

Things could have been worse for Blanco, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 53-37 loss to Burnet in their previous matchup back in December of 2020. Can Blanco avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
