Pius X was handed a seven-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Norfolk Panthers, sneaking past 3-1. This was payback for the Thunderbolts, who suffered a 3-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Pius X saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jesus Yanez, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases Yanez has posted since back in March.

Pius X's victory bumped their record up to 9-12. As for Norfolk, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 12 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Pius X will take on rival Columbus at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Norfolk is set to square off against their familiar foe Kearney at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
