Soccer Game Preview: St. Anthony vs. Bishop Montgomery

The St. Anthony Saints will head out to challenge the Bishop Montgomery Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Anthony's last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

St. Anthony's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged St. Genevieve out 1-0. That's two games straight that the Saints have won by just one goal.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Logan Aranda, who's now up to two this season.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last game, Bishop Montgomery made sure to put some goals up on the board against Paraclete on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 7-0 margin over the Spirits. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by three goals or more this season.

Bishop Montgomery has also been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 24 goals over those six games. As for St. Anthony, they now have a winning record of 4-3-3.

St. Anthony might still be hurting after the 6-1 defeat they got from Bishop Montgomery in their previous meeting last Monday. Can St. Anthony avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
