Volleyball Recap: North Tampa Christian Academy Comes Up Short

North Tampa Christian Academy lost against Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Titans came up short against the Phoenix, falling 3-0. The game marked the first time this year in which the Titans were not able to get on the board.

While North Tampa Christian Academy ultimately came up short, they really made Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate work, particularly in the first set. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-14, 25-20.

Jaedyn Petaway paced North Tampa Christian Academy's offense, picking up 11 kills. Petaway got some help from Alejandro Monserrate and his 12 assists. Finally, Esteban Lopez kept North Tampa Christian Academy's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

North Tampa Christian Academy now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1.

Coming up, North Tampa Christian Academy will head out on the road to challenge Forest Lake Academy at 3:20 p.m. on Friday. As for Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate, they will head out to take on George Jenkins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something the Phoenix surely won't give up without a fight.
