In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alyssa Nieto, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Mya Del Rio was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, while Orange Cove put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Caruthers. The Titans put the hurt on the Blue Raiders with a sharp 6-0 win. Considering the Titans have won 13 games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Not much got past Daisy Regalado, who gave up just four hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Caruthers off the board.
At the plate, Ashley Garcia was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Sammie Lopez, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Orange Cove was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .360 or higher in six consecutive matches.
Orange Cove is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 17 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Hoover, their win bumped their record up to 16-5.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Hoover has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .444. However, it's not like Orange Cove struggles in that department as they've averaged .480. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
