Baseball Game Preview: Roma Gladiators vs. Cigarroa Toros

For the second straight game, Roma will face off against Cigarroa. Roma will take on Cigarroa at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Roma has four straight victories, Cigarroa has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

If Roma beats Cigarroa with eight runs on Friday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. Roma skirted past Cigarroa 8-7.

For Cigarroa's part, Javier Viera was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 1-for-3. Chris Olguin was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Roma pushed their record up to 11-7-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Cigarroa, their loss dropped their record down to 3-12.
