Nevada Union made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Placer, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Miners fell just short of the Hillmen by a score of  33-30 on Friday. The Miners have struggled against the Hillmen recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

 Nevada Union's  defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of  Rhyder Eelkema, who rushed for 209 yards and two  touchdowns while picking up 10.5 yards per carry, and  Brandon McCallum, who rushed for 123 yards and one  TD. The Miners are 3-1 when  Eelkema posts two or  more  rushing touchdowns, but 0-5 otherwise.
  Jesiah Aday had an outrageously good game for Placer as he rushed for 174 yards and a pair of  scores while picking up 8.7 yards per carry. The dominant performance also gave  Aday a new career-high in  rushing touchdowns (two). Another player making a difference was  Danny Sanchez-Harlow, who gained 90 total yards and two touchdowns.
Nevada Union's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Placer,  the  victory made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 6-3.
