After having lost a blowout in their previous game against King's Academy, Greenback was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 12-3 margin over the Rockwood Tigers. With that win, the Cherokees brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.
Cooper Holt made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
In other batting news, Kolden Williams was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2025. Another player making a difference was Lucas Clifford, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
Greenback's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Rockwood, their record is now 0-3.
Greenback will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Tigers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
