Baseball Game Preview: Antioch Sequoits vs. Grayslake North Knights

For the second straight game, Antioch will face off against Grayslake North. The Sequoits will head out on the road to square off against the Knights at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Antioch's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Grayslake North's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Antioch had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Grayslake North on Monday. The Sequoits' pitcher stepped up to hand the Knights a 10-0 shutout.

Ben Clausen tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Caiden Mentkowski, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024. Evan Schmidt was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and one run.

Antioch's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-9-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Grayslake North, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-21.
