Basketball Game Preview: Forrest City Mustangs vs. Blytheville Chickasaws

The Forrest City Mustangs will venture away from home to square off against the Blytheville Chickasaws at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Forrest City is headed into Thursday's contest hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight losses. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 51-49 to Stuttgart, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, Blytheville and Westside squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Blytheville had to settle for second. They took a 55-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors. The Chickasaws' defeat signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Forrest City's loss dropped their record down to 16-8. As for Blytheville, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-8.

Everything came up roses for Forrest City against Blytheville when the teams last played back in December of 2023, as the squad secured a 58-26 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Forrest City since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
