Recap: Calvary Academy Lions vs. Covenant Classical Cavaliers
The Calvary Academy Lions fell victim to the Covenant Classical Cavaliers''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were dealt a 70-0 defeat at the hands of the Cavaliers. While losing is never fun, Calvary Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 127th, while Covenant Classical is ranked 14th).
Hudson Williams had a dynamite game for Covenant Classical, throwing for 232 yards and six touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. Logan Clifton was in the mix as well, providing Covenant Classical with two touchdowns.
Calvary Academy are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Covenant Classical, Abilene Christian, and Nazarene Christian Academy. As for Covenant Classical, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.
Calvary Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Covenant Classical will look to defend their home field on Friday against Dallas Lutheran at 12:00 p.m.
