Baseball Recap: Upland Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Upland had lost 14 games straight , but after bumping their record up to 5-22 on Wednesday that streak is in the rearview. They put the hurt on the Chino Hills Huskies with a sharp 9-3 victory. The Highlanders/Scots not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 3rd (when they won 12-6).

The team relied heavily on Carson Kinnick, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Upland's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 2-21 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Luke Luevano, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Upland was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April.

As for Chino Hills, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-10. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss they have suffered since March 18, 2024.

On Chino Hills' side, they saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Frankie Brazil, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Brody Buoncristiani was another, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

As of now, neither Upland nor Chino Hills have any future games scheduled.
