Football Recap: Brantley Dunn Leads West End's Defense on Friday

Sand Rock came into Friday's contest looking for another win against West End, but Jaxon Hamby wouldn't allow it. The Patriots took down the Wildcats 33-14 on Friday for which the team can thank Hamby, who threw for 189 yards and three TDs on only 14 passes, and also punched in a pair of scores on the ground. He didn't just play on offense: he also forced two fumbles and made seven total tackles (2.0 for loss) in addition to snagging an interception.

West End didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Brantley Dunn, Braison Howard, and Hamby picked up one apiece.

The win got West End back to even at 1-1. As for Sand Rock, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

West End has already played their next matchup, a 16-13 loss against Falkville on the 5th. As for Sand Rock, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 41-0 defeat against North Sand Mountain on the 5th.
