Softball Recap: Bishop Conaty-Loretto Sets Scoring Season-High Against Serra

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bishop Conaty-Loretto). They were the clear victor by a 24-3 margin over the Serra Cavaliers on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won five matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

Kaylah Araujo was incredible, scoring two runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Heather Salvador was another key player, scoring three runs while going 1-for-3.

Bishop Conaty-Loretto always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .675. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Bishop Conaty-Loretto's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 6-4. As for Serra, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Bishop Conaty-Loretto Wildcats face off against Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary Cardinals at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Serra, they will square off against Ramona Convent at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
