Basketball Recap: Owen Trofholz's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Platteview over Wahoo

Platteview lost against Wahoo back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Platteview Trojans lost 63-41 to the Wahoo Warriors. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Trojans have suffered since February 16, 2024.

Several Trojans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Owen Trofholz, who posted 11 points. Another player making a difference was Reiman Zebert, who put up six points.

Wahoo's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dylan Simons led the charge by going 5 for 8 en route to 14 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Simons is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last four games he's played. Eli Shada was another key player, going 7 of 11 on his way to 14 points and six boards.

Platteview moved to 10-4 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Wahoo, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-3.

Platteview wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 67-16 win against Nebraska City on the 21st. Wahoo has also already played their next contest, a 60-51 victory against Douglas County West on the 18th.
