The School of Los Angeles's four-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They escaped with a win against Los Angeles Leadership Academy by the margin of a single free throw, 40-39. For The School of Los Angeles, this counts as revenge for the 36-26 defeat Los Angeles Leadership Academy walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2023.
Los Angeles Leadership Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Oscar Hernandez, who scored 15 points along with four steals. Joshua Ramirez was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds.
The School of Los Angeles' win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Los Angeles Leadership Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season.
