Football Recap: Keegan Adams' Menacing Defense Leads Slinger over West Bend West + How To Watch

Slinger won against Hartford last Friday with 28 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Owls enjoyed a cozy 28-14 win over the West Bend West Spartans. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Owls' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin football rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while the Spartans are ranked 122nd).

Slinger found their leader in sophomore Colton Schluter, who threw for 191 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 passes, and also punched in one TD on the ground. Landon Socha helped Schluter out on the ground, rushing for 113 yards, while also picking up 31 receiving yards and one score.

Slinger didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited West Bend West to a completion percentage of just 47.1%. The Owls weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 69.2%.

Slinger didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Keegan Adams.

Colton Steinmetz and Ryan Rose certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Steinmetz rushed for 183 yards while picking up 7.0 yards per carry, while Rose gained 84 total yards.

The victory made it two in a row for Slinger and bumps their season record up to 3-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 28.0 points over those games. As for West Bend West, their loss was their first of the season and also makes their record 3-1.
