Basketball Game Preview: Lee Williams Volunteers vs. Prescott Badgers

The Lee Williams Volunteers and the Prescott Badgers will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Lee Williams is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Kingman Academy 78-57 on Thursday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Volunteers as it put an end to their seven-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Prescott came tearing into Thursday's contest with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 39.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They breezed by the Bears to the tune of 80-42. Given the Badgers' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while the Bears are ranked 103rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Prescott's win was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-5. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.9 points per game. As for Lee Williams, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-11.

Lee Williams might still be hurting after the 73-49 defeat they got from Prescott in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Can Lee Williams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
