Basketball Recap: Mary Walker Comes Up Short

Mary Walker was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat. They lost to the Wilbur-Creston-Keller Wildcats at home by a 72-55 margin. Even if the Chargers couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their offense, which had struggled int the games prior.

When it comes to explaining why Mary Walker lost, don't look at Andru Pinyan. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 19 points and 20 boards. Pinyan is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games he's played. Jonah Howder was another key player, going 7 for 12 on his way to 16 points and five assists.

Mary Walker's loss dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Wilbur-Creston-Keller, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.

Mary Walker wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 69-48 defeat against Valley Christian on the 28th. Wilbur-Creston-Keller has also already played their next game (against Garfield-Palouse), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
