Recap: Stringer Red Devils vs. Sylva Bay Academy Saints
The Stringer Red Devils lost against the Sylva Bay Academy Saints back in November, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Stringer fell 40-29 to Sylva Bay Academy.
Sylva Bay Academy was led to victory by Tristen Rogers and Brody Boyd. Rogers scored nine points along with five steals, while Boyd scored 16 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Boyd has scored at least 25% of Sylva Bay Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Brecken Phillips, who scored eight points.
Stringer's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Sylva Bay Academy, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-4.
Stringer and Clarkdale will face off at 7:30 p.m. on December 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Clarkdale is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. Sylva Bay Academy and River Oaks will round out the year against one another at 1:45 p.m. on December 28th at. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in their respective states (River Oaks is ranked 179th in Louisiana, while Sylva Bay Academy is ranked 169th in Mississippi).
