Volleyball Recap: Central Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Central came tearing into Saturday's match with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Rockmart Yellowjackets by a score of 2-0. That's more bragging rights for the Lions, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Central was: they took both sets by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-9.

Leading Central to victory were Abigayle Rowland and Leah Collier. Rowland had nine assists and six aces, while Collier had eight digs and two aces. Those six aces gave Rowland a new career-high.

They weren't the only good server: Central was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 18 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in nine consecutive contests.

Central's victory bumped their record up to 22-6. As for Rockmart, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-18 record this season.

Central will face off against Northgate at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rockmart, they have already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Temple on the 13th.
