Soccer Game Preview: Manheim Central vs. Ephrata

The Manheim Central Barons are taking a road trip to challenge the Ephrata Mountaineers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Manheim Central's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

While Manheim Central's win against Garden Spot wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Barons never let the Spartans get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Ephrata narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Octorara Area 1-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Ephrata.

Manheim Central's victory bumped their record up to 4-9-2. As for Ephrata, their win bumped their record up to 5-9-2.

Manheim Central skirted past Ephrata 1-0 when the teams last played two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Barons since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
