Basketball Recap: Windthorst Comes Up Short

Windthorst and Lipan squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Windthorst had to settle for second. They lost 63-38 to the Lipan Indians. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 633rd, while the Indians are ranked 158th).

Windthorst's defeat dropped their record down to 20-11. As for Lipan, they are on a roll lately: they've won 18 of their last 20 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-4 record this season.

Windthorst does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lipan, they will take on Honey Grove on Monday. Lipan knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine matchups -- so hopefully Honey Grove likes a good challenge.
