Glenwood is a perfect 10-0 against Jacksonville since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Titans will welcome the Crimsons at 10:00 a.m. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Glenwood sitting on five straight wins and Jacksonville on seven.

On Monday, Glenwood needed a bit of extra time to put away Mahomet-Seymour. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bulldogs, sneaking past 7-5.

Glenwood saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cameron Appenzeller, who fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-5. That's the most RBI Appenzeller has posted since back in May of 2024. Joe Anderson was another, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Glenwood kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive games.

Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Jacksonville had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They never let the Senators get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Crimsons have posted since May 3rd.

Not much got past AJ Charpentier, who gave up just five hits to keep Springfield off the board. Charpentier has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Brandon Sims was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Jacksonville's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-14. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Glenwood, their victory bumped their record up to 19-8.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Glenwood has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Jacksonville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Glenwood skirted past Jacksonville 8-7 when the teams last played back in April. Do the Titans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Crimsons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
