Softball Recap: Wilmot Takes a Loss

Wilmot was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Burlington Demons. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Panthers have suffered against the Demons since May 2, 2022.

Sarah Josko was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Taylor Walter also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Wilmot's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Burlington, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Wilmot is set to take on their familiar foe Badger at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Burlington will square off against rival Westosha Central at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
