Basketball Game Preview: Lincoln Cougars vs. Keyser Golden Tornado

The Lincoln Cougars will take on the Keyser Golden Tornado at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Lincoln is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They walked away with a 43-35 win over Bridgeport. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Cougars as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Lincoln's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aundrea Rockwell, who posted eight points in addition to nine rebounds and four blocks. Those four blocks gave Rockwell a new career-high. Sadie Adams was another key player, putting up 11 points along with five boards and four steals.

Meanwhile, Keyser came tearing into Friday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 points), and they left with even more momentum. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 66-23 win over the Indians. The Golden Tornado have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matches by 22 points or more this season.

Lincoln's victory bumped their record up to 9-14. As for Keyser, their win bumped their record up to 18-4.

Lincoln didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Keyser in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 60-54 victory. Will Lincoln repeat their success, or does Keyser have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
