Basketball Game Preview: Rutland Raiders vs. Mount Anthony Patriots

Rutland has gone a perfect 10-0 against Mount Anthony recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. Having just played yesterday, the Rutland Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the Mount Anthony Patriots at 7:00 p.m. Rutland will be strutting in after a win while Mount Anthony will be coming in after a defeat.

Rutland is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Vermont's top teams: Burr & Burton, who was ranked 24th at the time (Rutland was ranked 11th). Rutland put the hurt on Burr & Burton with a sharp 62-37 victory on Monday. The Raiders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 25 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Mount Anthony was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a 59-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bellows Falls.

Mount Anthony's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Rutland, their win bumped their record up to 11-5.

Everything came up roses for Rutland against Mount Anthony in their previous meeting back in January, as the team secured a 72-33 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rutland since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
