Preview: DePaul College Prep Rams vs. Golder Panthers
The DePaul College Prep Rams will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Golder Panthers at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (DePaul College Prep has three straight wins, Golder has ten straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
DePaul College Prep stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 59-31 victory over Northside at home. Given DePaul College Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 46th, while Northside is ranked 333rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Golder had to suffer through a rough 60-14 loss at the hands of ITW David Speer Academy. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Golder in their matchups with ITW David Speer Academy: they've now lost seven in a row.
DePaul College Prep's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-7. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.1 points per game. As for Golder, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 14 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season.
Everything came up roses for DePaul College Prep against Golder in their previous matchup back in December of 2017 as the squad secured a 53-25 win. Does DePaul College Prep have another victory up their sleeve, or will Golder turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
