Volleyball Game Preview: Independence Blue Devils vs. Trinity Trojans

Independence is a perfect 10-0 against Trinity since September of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Blue Devils will welcome the Trojans at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Independence's victory against Fairview wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Blue Devils won by a set and slipped past the Warriors 3-2. The Blue Devils haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Independence took Fairview into a fifth set where they got it done with a 11-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-16, 23-25, 21-25, 15-4.

Independence had a senior duo take command as Madelyn Mudra had 11 digs and four aces and Sofia Pichert had 16 digs and two assists. Those four aces set a new season-high mark for Mudra.

Independence was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 27 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in September of 2024.

Meanwhile, Trinity got the win against Richmond Heights on Monday by a conclusive 3-0.

Trinity was especially dominant in the first set. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-21, 25-21.

Independence's victory bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Trinity, their win bumped their record up to 6-10.

Everything went Independence's way against Trinity in their previous matchup on September 8th, as Independence made off with a 3-0 victory. Do the Blue Devils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
