Basketball Game Preview: Vance County Vipers vs. Durham School of the Arts Bulldogs

The Vance County Vipers will head out on the road to challenge the Durham School of the Arts Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Vance County will be strutting in after a victory while Durham School of the Arts will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Tuesday, Vance County strolled past Louisburg with points to spare, taking the game 53-38.

Meanwhile, Durham School of the Arts played a tough game on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Louisburg, falling 57-35. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 534th, while the Warriors are ranked 233rd).

Vance County has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.6 points per game. As for Durham School of the Arts, they dropped their record down to 2-15 with the loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Vance County strolled past Durham School of the Arts when the teams last played back in January by a score of 38-19. The rematch might be a little tougher for Vance County since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
