Softball Recap: Mariposa County Takes a Loss

Mariposa County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 23-4 to the Livingston Wolves. If the Grizzlies were looking for revenge after losing 6-3 to the Wolves when the teams met back in March of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Heely Patterson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylee Hutchings, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Even though they lost, Mariposa County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Mariposa County's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Livingston, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Looking ahead, Mariposa County will challenge Denair at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Denair is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.9 runs per game this season. As for Livingston, they and Ceres will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Livingston also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 11.2 runs per game.
