Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Hannah Bryda and Nicole Bryda Lead Lutheran West to Victory

While Lutheran West's victory against Orange wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Longhorns had just enough and edged out the Lions 3-2. The Longhorns have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lions on Tuesday, too.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Lutheran West who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 10-25, 25-10, 24-26, 15-9.

Lutheran West was led to victory by Nicole Bryda and Hannah Bryda. Nicole had eight aces and four digs, while Hannah had 18 digs and five aces. Hannah is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least 11 every time she's taken the court this season.

They weren't the only good server: Lutheran West was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 20 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2024.

The win got Lutheran West back to even at 4-4. As for Orange, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.
