Carlyle had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Sparta Bulldogs on Monday. The victory was nothing new for the Indians/Lady Indians as they're now sitting on eight straight.

Carlyle easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-15.

Carlyle's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Avery Eversgerd, who had six digs and ten assists.

Maddie Schulein and Ruthie Pillers certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Schulein had 18 digs and two aces, while Pillers had a kill. Schulein has been hot , having posted 12 or more digs the last eight times she's played.

Carlyle is on a roll lately: they've won 19 of their last 21 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 28-7 record this season. As for Sparta, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-14.
