Baseball Recap: Prestonsburg Triumphs

Prestonsburg's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cooper Jaguars, sneaking past 8-7.

Aaron Jarrell was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.

Prestonsburg's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-18. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Cooper, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-15-1 record this season.

Prestonsburg will square off against Breathitt County at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. The Bobcats will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Blackcats surely won't give up without a fight. As for Cooper, they will head out to face off against Holy Cross at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
