Volleyball Recap: Lehigh's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Lehigh had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Island Coast Gators by a score of 3-1. That's more bragging rights for the Lightning, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Lehigh had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 15-25, 25-16, 25-11, 25-22.

Lehigh got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jocelyn Lopez out in front who had 23 assists and 19 digs. Those 19 digs gave Lopez a new career-high. Jayda Fleming was another key player, getting 13 digs, 11 kills, and three aces.

Lehigh was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in three consecutive matchups.

Lehigh now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Island Coast, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Lehigh will take on South Fort Myers in a tournament on Monday. Island Coast does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
