Basketball Game Preview: Pottsville Crimson Tide vs. Tri-Valley Bulldogs

The Pottsville Crimson Tide will square off against the Tri-Valley Bulldogs at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Pottsville has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-1 during that stretch of close contests.

On Tuesday, Pottsville needed a bit of extra time to put away Panther Valley. They skirted past the Panthers 56-54. The team ran away with 30 points in the first half and mostly just sat on those to pick up the win.

Pottsville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Christian Alvarez, who made all 7 shots he took to post 17 points. Letrel Montone was another key player, as he made all 5 shots he took racking up 15 points.

Meanwhile, Tri-Valley played a tough game on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Minersville, falling 62-35. The contest marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Tri-Valley's loss dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Pottsville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

Pottsville took their win against Tri-Valley when the teams last played back in February of 2022 by a conclusive 63-42. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Tri-Valley's Brody Smith, who went 9 of 20 en route to 20 points.
