Baseball Recap: Sterling Comes Up Short

Sterling suffered their closest loss since April 21st on Monday. They fell just short of the Geneseo Maple Leafs by a score of 5-3. The Golden Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Maple Leafs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Sterling saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Drew Nettleton, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Sterling's loss dropped their record down to 11-18. As for Geneseo, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-16 record this season.

While Sterling had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
