Basketball Recap: Page Sand Devils vs. Ganado Hornets
It was a good run, but the Page Sand Devils unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell to Ganado 55-51. Page was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hornets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.
Tyree Stingley and Talon Herder certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Stingley almost dropped a double-double on 26 points and nine rebounds, while Herder scored 13 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Herder has scored all season. Jackson Smith was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ganado to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ethan Billy, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Paddock, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Page's loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-7. As for Ganado, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-13.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Alchesay the next time they take the court. Ganado will head out to face Alchesay at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Page will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
