Basketball Recap: Northwestern Eagles vs. Meadville Eagles
A victory for Northwestern just wasn't in the cards on Tuesday as the squad wasn't able to take the lead at any point. They took a blow against the Meadville Eagles, falling 73-42. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Northwestern of the 67-38 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Meadville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Donivan Schreckhise, who went 6 for 13 en route to 21 points plus six rebounds and four steals. The match was Schreckhise's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Reece Meyers, who shot 4-for-6 from deep and almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds.
The win got Meadville back to even at 1-1.
Northwestern will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax] on Saturday. As for Meadville, they will take on Hale at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
