It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Maple Grove can now relate to. They fell just short of the Champlin Park Rebels by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. The Crimson haven't had much luck with the Rebels recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Maple Grove actually scored more points across those five sets (103-102), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 20-25, 25-20, 25-20, 15-13.

Maple Grove's loss came despite strong showings from Mckinley Hardle and Amanda Swiers. Hardle had 18 digs and two aces, while Swiers had nine digs and two aces. Swiers has been hot , having also posted 13 or more assists the last seven times she's played.

Even though they lost, Maple Grove was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in six consecutive contests.

With the loss, Maple Grove broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 21-11. As for Champlin Park, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 21 of their last 22 games, which provided a nice bump to their 27-3 record this season.
