Baseball Recap: Millard North Takes Down Ranked Elkhorn South

Millard North faced Elkhorn South in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Mustangs won by a run and slipped past the Storm 4-3. While the Mustangs didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Millard North got a great performance from Wade Spencer as he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched.

At the plate, Millard North let Alex Buresh and Marcus Hankins run wild. Buresh scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances, while Hankins scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Millard North's victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Elkhorn South, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.
