Baseball Recap: Frontier Snags Fourth Win in Last Five Games

Frontier got themselves on the board against Foothill on Tuesday, but Foothill never followed suit. They came out on top against the Cougars by a score of 5-0. That's more bragging rights for the Titans, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Frontier got a great performance from Cade Shaw as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over six innings pitched. Shaw has become a key player for the Titans: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most one hit, but 6-8 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Landon McDonald, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Frontier's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-2 (and 4-7 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Ronnie Machado, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Frontier has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Foothill, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-11.

Coming up, Frontier will take on Hanford in a tournament on Wednesday. As for Foothill, they will be taking part in a tournament against Chowchilla at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
