Oil City proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by 26) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 57-54 win over the Clarion-Limestone Lions. The victory continues a trend for the Oilers in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won three in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Clarion-Limestone lost, don't look at Jase Ferguson. Despite the final result, he went 7 of 11 en route to 18 points in addition to eight boards and six assists. Ferguson has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last nine times he's played. Paul Craig was another key player, going 6 for 10 to rack up 16 points.

Oil City's win bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Clarion-Limestone, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-7.

Oil City has already played their next match, a 60-50 loss against Warren on the 7th. As for Clarion-Limestone, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 63-25 victory against East Forest on the 7th.
