Volleyball Recap: Kenston Takes a Loss

Kenston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lake Catholic Cougars. If the Bombers were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Cougars when the teams met back in August of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Avari Amstutz paced Kenston's offense, picking up eight kills. Amstutz got some help from Maci Amstutz and her six assists. Raygynn Pampush controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lake Catholic to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ava Starr, who had seven digs and one block. Starr is also crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 23 every time she's taken the court this season. Lola Loncar was another key player, getting 12 digs.

Kenston now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Lake Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 4-5.

Kenston has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Brunswick on the 6th. As for Lake Catholic, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Huron on the 6th.
