Baseball Recap: Sunset Bison vs. Hillcrest Panthers
If Sunset was riding high fresh off their 18-2 takedown of Jefferson last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Sunset fell just short of the Hillcrest Panthers by a score of 4-3 on Tuesday. The Bison haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Edwin Chavez was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He struck out seven batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Angel Echavarria stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Josue Martinez, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.
