Soccer Recap: Tuesday's Loss Ends Walton's Winning Streak

If Walton was feeling good fresh off their 9-0 takedown of Marietta last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Walton Raiders fell just short of the Harrison Hoyas by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. The contest was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but the Raiders couldn't quite close it out.

With the defeat, Walton broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up three goals over those seven matchups. As for Harrison, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Walton will host Cherokee at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few goals on average, (Cherokee: 0.3, Walton: 0.5) so any goals scored will be well earned. As for Harrison, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Dunwoody at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Dunwoody will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Harrison surely won't give up without a fight.
