Softball Preview: Morehead Panthers vs. West Stokes Wildcats        
        
		
            Morehead hasn't had much luck against West Stokes recently, but that could start to change  on Wednesday. The Panthers will take on the Wildcats at 6:00  p.m. Morehead is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4  runs per game  this season.
Morehead's pitching crew heads into the  matchup  hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed  on Friday. They put the hurt on North Forsyth with a sharp  16-0 win. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive  victory against them.

 Saillie Aheron made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out eight batters over  three innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits (and not a single walk). Those  eight  strikeouts gave  her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 3-for-3.
 In other batting news,  Dayln Hutchens was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with three  runs, one  triple,  and one  double. That  triple was  her first of the season. Another player making a difference was  Aubrey Easley, who  went a perfect 1-for-1 with four  RBI, one  triple,  and one  stolen base.
 Morehead was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .667. They are  a perfect 5-0 when  they post a batting average of .375 or better.
 Walkertown typically has all the answers at home, but  on Tuesday West Stokes proved too difficult a challenge. They narrowly escaped with a  win as the  squad sidled past the Wolfpack  4-3.
 West Stokes is  on a roll lately: they've  won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record  this season. Those  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Morehead, their record now sits at 6-9.
 Morehead suffered a grim  19-1 defeat to West Stokes  when the teams last played  back in March. Can the Panthers avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
