Basketball Recap: North Salinas Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After flying high against Salinas last Tuesday, North Salinas came back down to earth. The Vikings were dealt an 83-50 defeat at the hands of the South Spartans on Thursday.

Loss or not, North Salinas got some senior leadership from Angel Lizaola and Andre Lizaola. Angel shot 83% from the field on his way to 12 points, while Andre posted eight points in addition to five assists and four steals. Angel is on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 67% in the last six games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Jayden Guevara, who had six points and three blocks.

North Salinas' defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for South, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

North Salinas didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 61-49 victory against Everett Alvarez on the 5th. As for South, they have also already played their next matchup, a 57-51 win against Pioneer on the 5th.
