Basketball Recap: Tempe Prep Knights vs. Phoenix Country Day Eagles
If Tempe Prep was feeling good fresh off their 50-25 takedown of Santa Cruz Valley last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tempe Prep Knights were beaten by the Phoenix Country Day Eagles 84-20 on Monday. The Knights were not able to make up for their defeat to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.
Phoenix Country Day had a senior duo take command as Olivia Owens dropped a double-double with ten points and 12 rebounds and Aila Kaibara posted 12 points along with eight boards and eight steals. What's more, Owens also racked up seven assists, the most she's had since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Erin Patterson, who earned 13 points and four steals.
Tempe Prep's loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Phoenix Country Day, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season.
Tempe Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Phoenix Country Day, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 52-25 win against Arizona Lutheran Academy on the 6th.
