Fans were treated to a Battle of the Mustangs on Friday. The Center Hill Mustangs blew past the Strayhorn Mustangs 18-3. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Center Hill also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2017.

Cohen Mathews looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Cooper McCool, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. What's more, he also racked up two hits, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Grayson Doss was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Center Hill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .618. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Strayhorn only posted an OBP of .188.

The victory got Center Hill back to even at 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Center Hill is headed away from home for the first time to take on Pontotoc at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Strayhorn, they will head out to square off against New Site at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
